Journalism project

DP update:
For this project, we chose something that we thought was relevant to us and our community and wrote a newspaper article about this subject. We had a few weeks of starters where very day we would spend 20 minutes reading news and writing a short summary about it. This helped us get more experience with how news is written, how to manage bias and other things. We had a seminar about journalism and after this we chose the topic we wanted to write about. We had 2 weeks to work on this. After we were done we made a news page to publish our articles on and had our exhibition.
I think that what I will take away most from this project is identifying bias. After reading a lot of news and doing research on different news sources I learned more about the more and less reliable news sources. I also learned about the way people can make bias not seem unrealistic and make it somewhat unnoticeable. Another thing that I learned in this project is how to write a well outlined article. When writing a news article it's hard to make it clear and easy to follow. During this project I remade sentences and paragraphs a lot because they were kind of confusing and this helped me a lot in writing in the future.
My journalistic skills grew in this project by being able to make easily understandable writing and control bias. I was challenged in this because at the beginning of this project i had never done anything like this. When I learned what the goal of this project was I had no idea where to start. I didn't know much about journalism and thought it might be hard to do having no experience. After starting though I thought it was fun and researching information to put in our articles and just reading the news was pretty fun to me. I think i did a good ob on my research notes and that made it so I could just begin writing and have a list of facts and information I could use.
